By Robert Willard The Wolfpack Wrestling team is ready to start strong as the season begins. Coach Baxter, the head coach for the West Valley High School Wolfpack, says “ I'm very optimistic of this season” New players are showing up and staying consistent Baxter says, and it makes him happy that these students take the time and effort just to show up to practices.
Wyatt Baise, a wrestler for the Wolfpack. Has been wrestling for West Valley for two years and is happy that the team has gotten bigger. “ It's nice having a bigger team with different experiences”, he says, “Plus with having wrestlers from last year showing up again”. Baise feels very confident in his team and hopes that the new wrestlers will learn more techniques and how to wrestle a little better each time. He is ready to take on any challenge that the coaches or the team gives him and hopes to complete any task that will be thrown at him. Allen Holland, one of the best wrestlers on the team, is a junior for West Valley and has been wrestling since seventh grade. “Wrestling is life,” says Holland, and nothing has been more important to him than wrestling “It's gonna get me out of high school”. Holland feels really confident within himself and is excited for the team. He plans to go to state competitions when the season starts.
